Week 15: Case CAD

Overview of Activity:

In this meeting, members learned about how to create and use parameters. With this new knowledge, members created new and improved designs of battery cases for the 9V battery in our robot kits!

New Tool: Parameters!

Parameters are essentially variables in CAD, helping you keep track of measurements and allowing for easier editing.

To make a parameter, simply open the Change Parameters menu under the modify tab in Fusion 360 and press the "+" sign next to User Parameters. Then enter in a name for the parameter and a measurement. You can then use the parameter in dimensions!

Why Parameters?

Parameters allow us to easily edit designs when needed without having to individually edit dimensions. They also allow for dimensions to be linked together, so changing one parameter can change more than one dimension!

Members' Designs!

Here are some of our members designs, all of them are really cool and unique!
